Students in the Research in Intelligent Software and Analytics (RISHA) Lab at IIT Tirupati have developed a game called "SurviveCovid-19". Supported by the Richard Lounsbery Foundation, these developers wanted to raise awareness of the importance of social distancing, masks, and hand washing, especially now that countries around the world are beginning the transition out of lockdown.

“Given the relaxations that may follow after lifting lockdown, it is extremely important to make people aware of various safety precautions to stop the spread and the level of severity of the disease,” says Dr. Sridhar Chimalakonda, the leader of the team. The assistant professor at IIT Tirupati describes that the game "is inspired by a simple pixel-based top-down style design where people navigate the city with safety and health measures and accomplish tasks such as buying groceries and medicines."
