On Tuesday, September 23, His Excellency Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, visited Villa Albertine in New York to discuss the launch of the Lafayette Fellowship, a new higher education initiative celebrating 250 years of French-American friendship and fostering the next generation of transatlantic leaders. Villa Albertine is a division of the French Embassy in the United States focused on Culture and Education

Earlier in 2025, the Directors of the Lounsbery Foundation awarded a grant to Villa Albertine in a show of early support of the Lafayette Fellowship. The Lafayette Fellowship supports up to 30 outstanding American students for one year of master’s-level study at 15 top French institutions.
