CATHERINE DULAC RECIPIENT OF 2021 BREAKTHROUGH PRIZE IN LIFE SCIENCES
Lounsbery Director Catherine Dulac was awarded a 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences on September 10, 2020. The Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences honors transformative advances toward understanding living systems and extending human life. The Prize was founded in 2013 by Sergey Brin, Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg, Yuri and Julia Milner, and Anne Wojcicki
Professor Dulac was recognized for work "deconstructing the complex behavior of parenting to the level of cell-types and their wiring, and demonstrating that the neural circuits governing both male and female-specific parenting behaviors are present in both sexes."
