NATIONAL ACADEMIE DES SCIENCES | MARIE MANCEAU | FRENCH CYCLE
The Richard Lounsbery Award is a prize given in alternate years to young (aged 45 and below) French and American scientists to recognize extraordinary scientific achievement in biology and medicine. The prize is intended to stimulate research and encourage reciprocal scientific exchanges between the United States and France.

ABOUT MARIE MANCEAU Marie Manceau, from the Collège de France, was the 2020 recipient of the Richard Lounsbery Award. Manceau and her team used an innovative process to study the evolution of patterns in nature, using the plumage of birds and other vertebrae. Starting at the molecular level, Manceau established a vast and unique network of collaborations with breeders, hobbyists, zoos, and local and distant governments, as well as creating a breeding facility at the Collège de France.
